Why I Stopped Meditating and Started Screaming

Everyone around me was meditating. My friends, my feed, even my neighbor’s dog seemed to be on a mindfulness journey. So I tried it too.

I downloaded the apps. Bought a yoga mat. Lit overpriced candles that smelled like “forest dreams” or whatever. And still? I wanted to throw my phone out the window and scream.

So I did. And it changed everything.

Let's be real, not every emotion needs to be pulled apart and worked through. Some days you need to blast Charli XCX, clean your entire room in rage-mode, or ugly cry in the shower. For me? I started screaming into my pillow. Turns out some feelings just need to be let out. And you know what pairs well with screaming? An outfit that screams back.

Once I stopped pretending everything was always okay, my wadrobe got the memo too. Prints got bolder. Fits got comfier. And suddenly, I was showing up in clothes that actually matched my mood.

There’s so much pressure to be calm, balanced, minimal, curated. But let’s be honest, that’s not how most of us feel inside.

I’m not anti-meditation. But I am pro-feeling-everything. Pro rage-sprints and glitter eyeshadow at noon. Pro scream-to-heal.
